More than 510,000 birds have been culled in South Korea in an outbreak of bird flu

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has informed WOAH of an outbreak of H5N6 highly pathogenic avian influenza in South Korea.The outbreak occurred in North Jeolla Province, South Chungcheong Province and South Jeolla Province. The source of the outbreak is unknown or uncertain. Clinical, autopsy and laboratory tests found that 513,810 birds were suspected to be infected, of which 322 became ill, 47 died, and 513,763 were killed and harmless disposal
