The spread of African swine fever in several provinces in the Philippines has led to panic among pig farmers in some affected areas, who have stolen pigs that have not reached the weight of the pen to sell to mobile traders.On the other hand, consumers have tended to choose chicken, eggs and beef instead of pork due to concerns that pork is harmful to health.At present, Philippine pork belly has dropped to 305 pesos per kg, while chicken prices have risen to 240 to 250 pesos per kg.
