The Brazilian Animal Protein Association ABPA held a press conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to make forecasts for Brazilian chicken and egg production, domestic consumption and international exports in 2024 and 2025.
Brazilian chicken
For the full year 2024, poultry meat production is expected to be 1,510 tons, up 1.8% from the same period last year. Production will reach 1,535 tonnes in 2025, an increase of 2.3% over 2024. Domestic chicken consumption in Brazil remained at 45 per person per year this year; It is expected to reach 46 kg by 2025.
Brazilian egg
Brazil’s egg production is expected to reach 56.9 billion in 2024, up 8.5% from last year. Brazil’s domestic egg consumption will also increase by 8.5% to 263 eggs per person per year. In 2025, production is expected to reach 57.5 billion, up 1% from 2024. Egg exports are expected to fall by 20% to 20,000 tons in 2024. However, export growth will resume in 2025, with exports expected to reach 22,000 tons, an increase of 10% over 2024.
