According to the Uruguay “Observer” report on October 24, Uruguayan National Meat Association (INAC) latest
data show that as of mid-October, Uruguayan meat exports reached 528,586 tons, a year-on-year increase of 36.3%,
and the export value was 2.167 billion U.S. dollars. An increase of 53.7% over the same period last year (387657 tons),
and an increase of 21.5% over 2019 that was not affected by the epidemic; the average export price was US$4,099 per
ton, an increase of 12.7% over the same period in 2020 (US$3,635). Beef is the largest meat export product, with an
export volume of 310,824 tons and an export value of US$1.75 billion, a year-on-year increase of 36%, accounting for
81% of all meat exports. The average export price is US$4,158 per ton, an increase of 9.8 %year-on-year.
China still maintains its position as the largest export market for black meat, accounting for 57%, reaching US$1.228 billion, a
year-on-year increase of 92.7%; followed by the European Union, accounting for 13%, and exporting US$279.8 million, an increase of
23.6%; North American Free Trade Area accounted for 13%, reaching 276.3 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 13.5%;
Mercosur accounted for 5%, 99.4 million US dollars, an increase of 92.2%; Israel accounted for 4%, 77.9 million US dollars, an increase
of 114.2%.
