An outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza has occurred in Hungary
According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE),April 14, 2022,The Food Chain Safety Department of the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture told OIE,An outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza has occurred in Hungary.
The site of this outbreak, Kishkong Mau Ishao town, Baki-Kishkong State, was confirmed on 14 April 2022,The source of the outbreak is unknown or uncertain.Laboratory tests found that 3,510 birds were suspected of being infected, of which 24 became ill and died, and 3,486 were killed and disposed of.
As the outbreak continues, the Food Chain Safety Department of the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture will submit weekly follow-up reports.
