The cooker is indirect steam heated in the rotor screw and jacket to cook/preheat the rawmaterial to 95 deg C. Variable speed gearmotor by frequency inverter and variable steam pressure controls thecooking/preheating process. The cooker rotates very slowly to avoid breaking up the fish to a “soup” before pressing. The raw material must have 95 deg C temperature for good pressing.
The Sensitar Fish Cookor features an indirect steam heated shaft and shell. Indirect steam can be returned to the boiler without chemical treatment, and no direct steam injection means less evaporation load on the entire system.
The Sensitar Fish Cookor is designed, fabricated, and tested to ASME Code specifications.
The Fish Cooker consists of a stator housing with steam-heated jacket and a screw rotor with flights that are mounted on the whole length of the rotor. Rotor and flights are indirectly heated by steam. The stator steam jacket is divided into sections, enabling uniform distribution of the steam by means of a steam manifold. The condensate from the jacket is discharged through a condensate manifold. The housing is equipped with hinged hatches with counterweights for efficient inspection and cleaning. The rotor is equipped with stuffing boxes in both ends. The rotor is supported at both ends only by means of roller bearings. Steam enters and condensate is evacuated through the rotary joint mounted on the end shaft.
